Frequently Asked Questions

CBIT is a structured, evidence-based behavioral intervention for people with motor or vocal tics. It helps individuals become more aware of their tics, understand factors that may make them better or worse, and learn strategies for managing their impact.
CBIT may be appropriate for children, teens, and adults with Tourette syndrome or another persistent tic disorder. A consultation and individualized assessment can help determine whether it is a good fit.

Executive function coaching builds practical skills related to planning, organization, time management, task initiation, emotional regulation, and follow-through.
It may benefit children, teens, and young adults who understand what they need to do but have difficulty getting started, staying organized, managing competing demands, or completing tasks independently. Sessions are personalized using assessment results, intake information, and the individual’s everyday needs.
-
Coaching and consultation are practical and skills-focused. We identify specific challenges, develop strategies, practice those strategies, and adjust them based on what works in everyday life.
These services do not replace psychotherapy, medical treatment, or crisis care. Some clients benefit from coaching alongside therapy or other professional services. During the consultation, I’ll help you consider whether my services fit your current needs.

It’s understandable that families may have concerns about behavior analysis based on their own experiences or what they have heard. My approach is individualized, collaborative, strengths-based, and respectful of each person’s autonomy.
I focus on understanding what a behavior communicates, identifying any missing skills or supports, and developing practical strategies to improve everyday functioning. The goal is not compliance or changing harmless differences—it is helping people build useful skills, access meaningful support, and have greater independence and choice.
-
We’ll begin with a free consultation to discuss your concerns, goals, and whether my services may be a good fit. If you decide to continue, I’ll complete an individualized assessment using an intake questionnaire and service-specific assessment tools.
From there, we’ll develop a personalized plan and typically meet for a 10-week series of sessions. You’ll also receive practical resources and a maintenance plan to support continued progress.

I currently accept private-pay clients only and do not bill insurance directly. Upon request, I can provide a superbill that you may submit to your insurance company for possible out-of-network reimbursement.
Coverage varies by plan, and reimbursement is not guaranteed. I recommend contacting your insurance provider before beginning services to ask about out-of-network benefits and documentation requirements.
